Research Interests: I hope to immerse myself in education policy. I am interested in analyzing the feedback loop of research and application of findings. Research is conducted, theories are developed, results are obtained, but how (if at all) is this information understood and utilized by the populations we study? How can we turn academic discourse into applicable and accessible strategies for policy reform?

Current Projects: I am continuing my work with an after school program in an under-served area of Los Angeles. I am focusing on the support systems that emerge between undergraduate students and K-12 students. I am also studying how these K-12 students develop expertise during game play, and how competition helps them construct and maintain an "expert identity."
