Vietnamese-American music has an audience of 2.5 million around the world, but this number could increase by 70 million if the US and Vietnam could work out a trade agreement which would allow the sale of this style of music within Vietnam. Vietnamese-American singers who perform Western-style pop and more traditional Vietnamese songs typically sell around 10,000 CDs worldwide. In addition, much of their music is sold on the black market in Vietnam and they receive no money from the sales.
