Where the West and the East Confront

Once upon a time, Vietnam was one of only a handful of countries with which the United States had no diplomatic and economic interactions.

With the lifting of the American trade embargo in 1994 and the efforts made by the U.S and Vietnam to normalize the international ties thereafeter,Vietnam, one of a few communist states exist today and tended to be forgetton in the world, has been put under the spotlight again in recent years. A confrontation between the U.S and Vietnam is highlighted in this page. The emphases are put on the American Trade Embargo and the intellectual property issues.
