While on the books, it was not always easy to implement. Despite the
Cuban Family Law, many women still have to contend with both full time
housework and full time waged labor. In this sense, Cuba is not unlike
that other country 90 miles away, where women also have to contend with
overlapping paradigms of traditional and modern womanhood.
