Legacy Hardware (hardware purchased before 3/1/01):ETU currently supports all Macintosh machines purchased with School Funds for use in Moore Hall or the GSE&IS Building. Repairs and upgrades to hardware purchased with personal or extramural funds must be paid for by the individual or through a grant. GSE&IS Supported Windows Hardware (Faculty Only)Please Note: All faculty members wishing to purchase/use Windows hardware/software need to contact ETU before making a purchase. You can contact ETU via e-mail at etu@gseis.ucla.edu or via telephone at extension 5-1911 Operating System:Windows 2000 Workstation and Windows XP Professional are the only supported Windows platforms for GSE&IS PCs. Windows ME, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, DOS, OS/2, Linux, Solaris, Unix, FreeBSD and other operating systems are not supported. That is to say, such platforms will receive no networking, no printing, no software support, no troubleshooting from ETU. Windows NT/2000 Domain Information:All Windows NT/2000/XP Workstations installed and maintained by the school (through ETU) are installed into the GSE&IS NT/2000 domain. This allows for:
