About ELP

The Educational Leadership Program (ELP) is a cohort based, 36-month, part-time doctoral program aimed at working professionals. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded the Ed.D. — the Doctorate of Education.

Each cohort is made up of between 25-30 students who work together throughout their tenure at UCLA, taking all the same classes together. Classes are held one night a week (from 6pm to 10pm) and on two to three Saturdays per month. Students have the advantage of the resources of a world-renowned research university including faculty, research centers and libraries.

Educators are drawn to the Educational Leadership Program by the opportunity to participate in a dynamic cohort of individuals who work in many segments of the educational continuum. The cohort acts together to develop and apply new connections in research, leadership principles and technology to improve educational practices.
