The Graduate School of Education & Information Studies has made a strong commitment to excellence in both research-oriented and professional degree programs in the two departments. To that end, the Department of Information Studies centers its well-respected research tradition in the Ph.D. degree. Similarly, the Department of Education continues its long tradition of strong, research-based programs in both the Ph.D. and M.A. degree concentrations, preparing top scholars and researchers in the field of Education.
At the same time, future librarians and information professionals, teachers, student affairs counselors, school administrators, and superintendents are trained in our Master of Library and Information Science, Teacher Education, Counseling in Student Affairs, Principal Leadership Institute, and Educational Leadership Programs, respectively. Additionally, the Department of Education offers an Undergraduate Minor for those potentially interested in pursuing the field, or who simply want to learn more about its rich history, tradition, and contemporary challenges. |
