- Name in Hieroglyphic
- http://www-ceg.ceg.uiuc.edu/~haggag/hiero.html
- This was a really good site. We chose it because we thought it
would be interesting to see our names written in hieroglyphics. It was
useful so we could get an idea of what hieroglyphics looked like. We typed
our name and then it showed what our name looked like. I think that this
site could be improved if we were able to write a whole paragraph.
Nicole S. 6th Grade; Hawthorne Elementary School, Beverly Hills, CA
- We chose this site because it helped us get information about
hieroglyphics, it was interesting and it was fun. We were able to see what
our name would look like in hieroglyphics. the site was in list form,
which was good because that way we could go look at anything we wanted just
by scrolling down the list. This site had pictures of hieroglyphs when we
typed our name in an any word we wanted to see. there were improvements
when we went to this site since it was fun. I think other kids would enjoy
looking at this site.
Lauren W. 6th Grade; Hawthorne Elementary School, Beverly Hills, CA
- We chose that site because we wanted to see all of our names in
hieroglyphics. It might be useful if you run across an Egyptian and you
want to tell him your name or other words that you might want to say to
him. It is an activity that you type in your name or words the computer
will translate it into hieroglyphics for you. There were not that many
pictures but the pictures of the words on name you typed in hieroglyphics.
The only improvement that would say is that should be more pictures and
places to go to see more hieroglyphics.
Robert H. 6th Grade; Hawthorne Elementary School, Beverly Hills, CA
- Tour of Egypt
- http://www.gypsymoth.ento.vt.edu/~ravlin/kensegypt.html
- It had great pictures and it let you know and see most of the main
things in Egypt. It is very useful because it tells you about the
different places and things they did in Egypt and that they still do. It
was in story form which I like the most and it listed many things that you
can click on to find out more about. It had pictures and they had good
graphics. they let you see the pyramids and people doing their work. I
think that they should talk or write more about ancient Egypt and think not
only of Egypt now but Egypt along time ago.
