Smith, Daryl G.; Wolf, Lisa E.; Morrison, Diane E. (1995). Paths to Success: Factors Related to the Impact of Women's Colleges. JOURNAL OF HIGHER EDUCATION, 66, (3).
The experiences of women who attended women's colleges were compared with those of women who attended coeducational institutions to determine which educational environment promoted women's educational success better. Longitudinal data from the Cooperative Institutional Research Program was used. The results show that student involvement, institutional climate, and particular goals and priorities found in women's colleges but not in coeducational institutions facilitated success for women students.
