Analyzed, from the 1971 and 1980 Cooperative Institutional Research Program surveys, data from 3,929 respondents who had completed their baccalaureate programs and who enrolled in graduate programs. Found that relative similarity between students' undergraduate and graduate major fields of study was related to their satisfaction with faculty-student and peer relationships in their graduate programs.
