Used data from the Cooperative Institutional Research Program national surveys of a national sample of college students to examine impact of intercollegiate athletic participation for Black (n=290) and White (n=1,716) American men. Found that athletics had a positive impact on social involvement, interpersonal and leadership skills, and motivation to complete one's degree. (Author/ABL)
