The Cooperative Institutional Research Program at the University of California, Los Angeles reports that 39 percent of university freshmen had 'A' averages in high school, compared to 22 percent of freshman at four-year colleges and nine percent of of freshman at two-year colleges. University freshmen are also more likely than college freshmen to have taken three years of math and two years of a foreign language in high school. University students were more likely than other college freshmen to cheat on tests or homework or to drink alcohol.
