Research interests include Modern European Cultural and Intellectual History, Globalization and Information Technology, Music and Popular Culture, and Urban History.

Teaching interests include Cultural History, Media Studies, Transatlantic Relations, and Globalization.
NewsDr. Sternfeld has recently started his one-year appointment with the Center for Information as Evidence. He is currently involved with generating new grant proposals for the Center as well as furthering his research in European jazz history.
Current Research ProjectsDr. Sternfeld is currently involved in readying his dissertation on German jazz during the Weimar and Nazi periods for publication. He is also planning an oral history project through the Center.
