Research Interests

The preparation of teachers for urban schools and the diversity of the teaching workforce are two of Dr. Metcalfe's research interests. Working with students as they develop teaching practices that are integrated with theoretical understandings and local community interests are the primary teaching interests. Additional teaching interests are assisting students in their development of their social justice identity and their understanding of the influences of cultural and language backgrounds.
