welcome to summer bridge 2003!
As we begin the 21st century, all too many school children continue to fare poorly in our nation’s public schools. This problem is particularly acute for minority children from low-income communities. Demographic projections suggest that these children are disproportionately Latino / Chicano and represent one of the largest growing segment of this country’s population. Until we are able to more successfully educate these youth, minority communities and our society in general will fail to cultivate a substantial reservoir of human talent that will be greatly needed in the years ahead.
