How to make a gift to the
UCLA Graduate School of Education &
Information Studies
The State of California provides the foundation for excellence,
yet many of the programs which help to make the School a leader in
bridging educational research and practice are funded through other
means. We need you to join the hundreds of other alumni and friends
who are committed to assist us in achieving the goals of our mission
year after year.
Here's how can you make a difference...
Making a Gift Online
The easiest way to make a gift to the School is by using a credit card on our online form.
The transaction and your credit card information will be completely secure.
GSE&IS Annual Fund
As our primary discretionary fund, the GSE&IS Annual Fund
supports the Dean and Faculty in a wide range of endeavors. From
enabling a student to complete a research project to providing the
resources for a major conference, these moneys fund emerging scholars
and opportunities at the School.
Major and Planned Gifts
Major Gifts of $50,000 and above provide underwriting for
significant projects and programs within the School. These gifts may
be pledged with a flexible payment timeline or made through a planned
gift. Planned Gifts of money or non-liquid assets enable a
donor to combine philanthropic intentions with their specific tax and
financial situation, often times to the benefit of the donor
regardless of income level. UCLA's development staff are available to
assist in advising with such gifts.
Dean's Scholars
Financial assistance to graduate students is a matter of high
priority to the Dean and to the School. An annual gift of $7,500
provides one scholarship to an outstanding student; an endowed gift
of $100,000 enables a donor to name the scholarship in perpetuity.
The School presently awards over forty-five scholarships and
fellowships each year.
Endowed Funds
Individuals may create a named, endowed fund with a minimum gift of
$100,000. Such a gift establishes a permanent tribute at the School,
and endorses its high standards of teaching, research and service.
Endowed funds often support lectures, scholarships, visiting scholars
and faculty chairs. In an Endowed Fund, interest earned by the
investment supports the donor's wishes, while the principal remains
intact in perpetuity.
