The state's budget crisis has hit the University of California particularly hard. While the University continues to work with students and schools in a variety of programs, the LABI Summer Institutes have been cancelled for Summer 2004.
The University of California's Los Angeles Basin Initiative (LABI) has sponsored summer institutes for eligible middle school, high school and community college students; high school teachers, counselors and administrators; and parents for the past five summers. Each of the eight general campuses - Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, UCLA, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz - has participated in the LABI Summer Institutes.
